DfE Live Q&A Session
The first blog post then!
After three years of trying, in a little over five weeks, I will be starting a SCITT course down in Bedford. Excited isn't the word. Finally, I can make these first tentative steps on a career ladder that is rewarding in every way where I can make a difference every day.
Naturally, in the face of anything that I have never experienced, there have been questions and a lot of research.
I remember seeing an advertisement for an online Q&A live chat that would be taking place on the Department for Education website, and being a complete first timer, I thought "why not," and I signed up.
The live chat took place on Friday of last week and can actually be viewed here
. The event lasted for an hour and a half and I was pleasantly surprised both at how much professional advice was available from quite a few people and the amount of participants asking questions.
The format was quite easy to follow with occasional videos being posted offering further advice and inspiration which I thought was quite illuminating.
I had prepared my questions in advance and they were all answered. I certainly have a few extra things to think about now in these final weeks and I certainly can't wait to get started!
My aim is to post frequently online in the form of text and video blogs so if you are a trainee teacher, it might be worth a look every now and again :)
